2024 SALVARD VAL DE LOIRE SAUVIGNON BLANC - sauvignon blanc - cheverny, france

$29.00

PULPY, ZIPPY, CITRUS BOMB.

WHY WE LOVE IT:

Salvard has been a standard-bearer in Cheverny—the Loire Valley appellation that snakes along the left bank of the Loire, close to Sancerre—ever since Maurice Delaille bought this property in 1890. The estate is run in the fifth generation by brothers Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille, who farm 45 hectares of primarily old vines across 24 plots between Tours and Orléans.

Grown on mature vines rooted in the sandy clay soils of Cheverny’s Fougères-sur-Bièvre, this is Sauvignon Blanc raised on lees without any oak.

It’s a deliciously pulpy, focused, with citrus fruit, and succulent herb flavours, finishing with a glide of mouth-watering zesty acidity and a fine, chalky finish.

Like sunshine in a glass, ya’ll.
