Established in the village of Saint-Aubin in the Côte d'Or, the Roux family have been cultivating vines since 1885.
This single vineyard expression is premier cru fruit from the Saint Aubin appellation, known for its powerful yet elegant chardonnays.
The 2020 is drinking exceptionally; baked apples, hazelnuts, a very attractive flintiness, and delicate orange sherbet characters are shining through. The wine is silky, smooth and perfectly balanced - powerful without being overwhelming.
If wine could be equated to a Little Black Dress (classic and classy) then this would be it. Drink now, or hold for another few years - this particular cuvée has the potential to develop even more complexity in the next 2-3 years.
